About
Dalal is the Director of Brain Imaging Operations in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at Wayne State University and a PhD candidate in Medical Sociology. She provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for MRI-based neuroscience research across multiple labs and programs, supporting studies in both clinical and non-clinical populations. Her work bridges neuroscience research goals with rigorous, reproducible imaging execution, spanning protocol development and optimization (including spectroscopy, fMRI/DTI, and structural imaging), participant-centered scanning workflows, and end-to-end quality assurance. Dalal collaborates with principal investigators, trainees, and research teams to strengthen imaging infrastructure, standardize workflows, and support grant-funded projects from study planning through data acquisition. She mentors and trains interdisciplinary teams in neuroimaging methods, MRI safety, and data handling, and serves as a liaison who translates neuroscience study needs into imaging workflows, coordinating with the MR Core and investigators to support smooth, high-quality research operations.
In the lab, Dalal facilitates fMRI imaging for the BRAINS, SERENITY, and CALM studies.
In her free time, Dalal enjoys walking in nature, spending time with her teenage kids, and staying engaged in community work.
